CZ DUTY 4.0 C

North Texas runs on 9mm service pistols, and CZ has a brand-new one. The DUTY 4.0 moves CZ's striker-fired line onto a serialized modular chassis: the serial sits on the internal unit, and the fiberglass-reinforced polymer grip frame around it is the modular part. The trigger is a refined SFDA with a factory pull of 5.6 pounds give or take 0.9, a 4 mm reset and 9 mm of travel. Barrel length is 4 inches on every model, slides are cut for direct-mount red dots, and sights are fixed.

Dallas and Fort Worth buyers have four ways to go. The DUTY 4.0 C compact carries 15+1 (17+1 with the extended base plate) and the F full-size 17+1 (19+1 extended). Add MS to either and you get a manual thumb safety. For everyday carry across DFW, the C is the natural pick; for the range in Denton or Arlington, the F gives more grip and more rounds.

The C is the short-grip frame. It stands 135 mm (5.3 in) tall, weighs 770 g (27.2 oz) with an empty magazine and carries 15+1 rounds of 9mm, or 17+1 once the extended base plate is fitted. Short enough to hide under a shirt, long enough to get every finger on the grip.

What is new under the slide is the registered modular chassis. The serial number lives on the internal chassis, not on the polymer grip, so the polymer grip is a part you can change while the gun stays the same gun. Around it CZ put a reworked SFDA striker trigger, rated at 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs) with a 4 mm (0.16 in) reset and 9 ± 1 mm (0.4 ± 0.04 in) of travel, and a slide cut for direct-mount optics. CZ's own photos show it wearing Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield reflex sights.

This version has no external safety lever. It relies on three internal safeties, firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger bar safety, and the trigger is the same as on the MS model. Shooters who prefer a lever should pick the MS.

The CZ DUTY 4.0 C suits anyone who wants a modern optics-ready 9mm with CZ's grip and a trigger that is better than the class average: daily carry, a home-defense gun that also rides along, and new shooters who want one pistol for everything.

Order online and name any licensed dealer near you at checkout, in Dallas, Plano, Arlington, Denton or out in the county; leave it blank and we will find one. The DUTY 4.0 goes to that dealer by insured, tracked carrier and you get tracking when it leaves the warehouse. Parts, optics and ammunition ship straight to your door where Texas law allows.

Questions buyers ask: Does the DUTY 4.0 use P-10 magazines? CZ has not confirmed cross-compatibility with the P-10, so plan on DUTY 4.0 magazines until CZ says otherwise. C or F for everyday carry around DFW? The C is 5.3 inches tall and 27.2 ounces, the F 5.6 inches and 27.5 ounces. Most carry the C; the F is the range and belt-holster gun. Does the CZ DUTY 4.0 C take CZ P-10 magazines? CZ lists the DUTY with its own 15-round magazine and an extended base plate for 17+1. P-10 magazine fit is not confirmed, so plan on DUTY magazines.
