New Carry and Duty Pistols: What Texas Shooters Should Know This Fall

Below is what each announcement says, what is still unknown, and a catalog search link for each model. SIG Sauer P385 family
SIG Sauer announced the P385 family in late September 2026. Coverage from guns.com, The Firearm Blog and Soldier Systems is dated September 23 and 24, 2026. The family is a modular, striker-fired 9mm pistol sold in five versions: P385-COMPACT, P385-CARRY, P385-FULL, P385-COMP and P385-MACH3D. The compact model has a 4-inch barrel and a 15+1 flush-fit magazine. The grip module is configurable, and the family brings SIG's first trigger-block safety. Finishes are black or coyote brown, and state-compliant versions are planned. Availability is listed for fall or early winter 2026. For a carry gun, the practical questions are grip fit, sight picture, and how the safety works under a hand that is used to another pistol, so handle a sample before you decide.
No official price has been published. One outlet reports a starting price around $599. SIG has not confirmed that number, so treat it as a reported figure only.
Caracal CMP9 and CMP9K
Caracal USA has two 9mm NATO pistols planned for this line. The CMP9 has a 9-inch barrel and the CMP9K has a 6-inch barrel. Both are built to accept 30-round MP5-type magazines, and both barrels are threaded 1/2x28. Release is planned for late 2026. We did not find a price for either model. The two models differ mainly in barrel length, so compare them side by side if you can.
Glock Gen6 COA models
Glock's Gen6 COA models pair the pistol with an Aimpoint COA red dot. guns.com reported the new models on April 24, 2026. The report gives no price, so we have none to quote. Check the catalog listing for the current status of any Gen6 model. If you already own a Glock, check the sight and holster options for an optic-equipped version before you buy.
New G43X and G44 magazines
Glock also introduced new 15-round magazines for the G43X and G44, reported by guns.com on April 24, 2026. These are accessories, so confirm the magazine matches your pistol model before you order.
