Description
For the serious shooter who builds their own rigs, the Apex Gunsmith Fit Universal Trigger in red is a raw component for custom work. Priced at $10, this is not a drop-in part. It is a solid aluminum trigger body designed for the gunsmith or experienced hobbyist who wants total control over their trigger system’s feel and performance.
This trigger body is machined from a single block of aluminum, then tumbled and Type 2 anodized in a bright red finish. That tumbling gives it a smooth-to-the-touch surface that feels clean under the finger. The bright red color also makes it easy to spot during installation and function checks. Because it is a universal shape, it can replace the factory trigger on a wide range of platforms, including Beretta, Colt, Glock, Sig, Smith & Wesson, Springfield, Ruger, and Taurus pistols. Note: Glock is a registered trademark of Glock, Inc.; Apex is an independent aftermarket manufacturer and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Glock, Inc.
This is a blank canvas. It requires extensive gunsmithing. You will need to machine the trigger body to fit your specific frame, sear engagement, and over-travel stop. Expect to use a Dremel, files, and patience. The benefit is that you set the final geometry. You can reduce trigger pull weight as much as your build allows. You can tune the uptake and reset to your preference—smooth, short, or somewhere in between. You can also reduce pre-travel and over-travel, again depending on how you fit the part.
Key specs and fitment notes:
- Material: Solid aluminum, Type 2 anodized in red
- Finish: Tumbled prior to anodizing for a smooth, non-gritty feel
- Fitment: Universal shape for Beretta, Colt, Glock, Sig, Smith & Wesson, Springfield, Ruger, Taurus
- Installation: Requires machining by the user. Not a drop-in part.
- Performance potential: Reduced trigger pull weight, reduced pre-travel, reduced over-travel, shorter reset (results depend on your fitting work)
This trigger is for the shooter who wants to build a carry or hunting pistol that feels exactly right in the hand. It is for the practical shooter who knows that a well-fitted trigger improves accuracy on the range and in the field. It is not for someone looking for a quick swap. If you have the tools and the know-how, this $10 part lets you build a trigger that matches
