The heart of the kit is the Apex Wide Flat Trigger, a .31” wide billet steel trigger face finished in ArmorLube™ Duplex DLC. This matte black coating provides exceptional corrosion, abrasion, and wear resistance—important for a carry or range gun that sees holster wear. The flat face allows your finger to sit lower on the trigger, improving leverage on the pivoting system. The Tank Tread Commander Hammer is a modern take on the classic ring hammer design. The checkered cocking surface gives your thumb positive traction, making it easier to manipulate the hammer during administrative handling or when lowering it. More importantly, the hammer features an over-cocking limit pad and optimized spur angle that work together to prevent hammer bite—a common issue with stock Hi-Power and SA-35 hammers. The hammer hook geometry is specifically matched to the included Mk 1 Balanced Sear, so you can drop it in without stoning or filing engagement surfaces.
The Mk 1 Balanced Sear is precision-engineered to match the hammer hook profile, delivering a clean, crisp trigger break. No guesswork, no hand-fitting required. The Balanced Sear Lever and its dedicated Sear Lever Spring solve a fundamental limitation of the Browning design. In stock configuration, the sear lever can experience inertia-related rotation as the slide goes into battery, which limits how light and crisp the trigger pull can be. By balancing the sear lever and biasing it away from the sear contact pad, this kit dramatically reduces the risk of hammer follow at lower pull weights.
