Description
For shooters who demand precision from their Smith & Wesson M&P, the Apex Grade 9mm Gunsmith Fit Barrel delivers verified accuracy that makes a real difference on the range and in the field. When properly fitted to both the slide and frame of your pistol, these barrels are capable of producing 5-shot groups measuring 1.00” or less at 25 yards. That’s sub-MOA performance from a factory-style drop-in component, assuming you do your part behind the trigger.
Built with a 1:10” twist rate and Apex’s proprietary, patented locking geometry, this barrel is engineered for repeatable lockup and consistent shot-to-shot precision. It’s the most accurate barrel option available for the M&P platform, trusted and approved for duty use by multiple law enforcement agencies nationwide. Whether you’re working on tight shot placement in a concealed-carry class, ringing steel at a match, or confirming zero for a hunting load, this barrel gives you the edge in accuracy without compromising reliability.
Key specifications and fitment details:

- Gunsmith fit required — installation should be performed by a qualified armorer for optimal accuracy
- Compatible with M&P and M2.0 pistols

Important installation note: If your slide is equipped with a Loaded Chamber Indicator (LCI), you will need to remove it or install the Apex No Profile Loaded Chamber Indicator Block for proper clearance. This barrel does not support the factory LCI profile.
Caliber conversion capability: These barrels also function as caliber conversion barrels for M&P and M2.0 pistols originally chambered in .40S&W or .357SIG. Installing the correct length Apex 9mm barrel allows you to shoot 9mm from your .40 or .357 pistol. You will need a 9mm magazine for reliable function. Apex strongly recommends using this setup for training and practice only — if the pistol will be used for personal protection, it’s best to purchase it in the caliber you intend to carry.
What to expect with conversion use: When a 9mm barrel is installed into a .40 or .357 slide, you will see a gap on either side of the barrel hood. This is normal and does not affect accuracy or function. If you experience extraction or feeding issues during conversion use, remove and clean the extractor hook thoroughly, as well as the inside of the slide. For persistent problems, consider upgrading to an Apex Failure Resistant Extractor. For recoil management, Apex recommends
