Stand-Out Features
Having handled dozens of muzzle brakes in our Wichita shop, the Maverick Gen 2 stands out for its thoughtful engineering. The aluminum construction keeps weight down to just 4.3 oz on our scale – barely noticeable when mounted. Our customers report excellent recoil mitigation without the bulk of steel brakes.
The hardcoat anodizing has held up well in our testing, resisting scratches during installation and range use. We particularly like how the 4 large side ports direct gas sideways rather than back toward the shooter – a real benefit for prairie dog hunters shooting prone.

Your Questions Answered
Will this fit my .308 Winchester?
Yes, the 5/8-24 thread pitch is standard for .308 rifles. We’ve installed several on Kansas hunters’ rifles with perfect fit.
How does the aluminum hold up to heat?
The Type III hardcoat anodizing provides excellent heat resistance. In our testing with rapid fire strings, it maintained integrity better than some cheaper steel brakes.
Is the recoil reduction noticeable?
Our customers consistently report significant felt recoil reduction, especially on magnum calibers. One Kansas elk hunter described it as “like shooting a different rifle.”
Does it come with installation tools?
No tools included, but the crush washer makes installation simple with standard armorer’s wrenches we stock in our Wichita shop.
Where can I buy Area 419 online?
Dallasshooters carries the full Area 419 lineup with fast shipping from Nashville. We process FFL items for Kansas buyers daily.
Is the brake loud?
Like all effective brakes, it increases perceived noise slightly to the sides. We recommend electronic hearing protection for range use.
What’s your return policy?
Unused items can be returned within 30 days. Of the 133+ we’ve sold, only 2 have been returned – both for fitment issues we resolved.
